There was a time in the life of every Lucifer Boy when his gaze was sprinkled with moonlight.

in a dance with a world of sleepless children, scared of the darkness within themselves.
Because he shone in cracks instead of halos— where so-called “gods” rarely look,
but where souls are formed in a game of hide and seek, between light and dark.
Stars are admired from a distance, echoes from lives that might have become something else.
Stories that almost got to be told.
Whispering games distorted along time’s weary shoulders.
Abilities that, in other rooms, might almost have counted as blessings.
Almost is a slap in the face for the one who almost got to belong.
Almost is the fracture in time where boys become monsters,
monsters become angels, and tyrants are worshipped as “gods.”
Moons do not judge. They do not worship.
They watch over what does not fit into daylight— over the smile that got stuck in enforced politeness. Pitchforks and torches replaced by salad forks and cheek kisses.
He never sought the night. It embraced him.
