Lucid Lucious is the name of the first of the Lucifer Boys—the ancient story-circle of boys who, in the human world, have been misread as problems, threats, or hopeless cases.
In truth they were embryonic magicians: soft-chaotic alchemists with hearts beating in ruby-red rhythms and eyes where imagination bloomed like two mutated suns.
His iconography is recognized by the two blooming star-flowers that sprout from his gaze. They are called the Daydream Daisies, said to see straight through human judgment.
His wide, stretched smile, so often mistaken for madness, was in fact a ritual of resistance—a way of holding the world open even when the world closed itself.
The Lucifer Boys smiled like that when they tried to bite down on hope, to keep it from escaping. Sometimes it worked.
In the oldest tales of Lucious, it is said that—like the Joker in Batman or Lucifer in the Holy Bible —he became a mirror for our misunderstandings: a reminder of what happens when boys call out for imagination but receive nothing back but the echo of fear.
It is said that anyone who looks at Lucious long enough—right at the moment when the petals seem to breathe—might hear his ancient question:
“What could my mind have become,
if you had let me make it up myself?”
